Like a lot of Airsofter's in New Zealand, I've been waiting for the Full Auto laws to pass so I could legally upgrade my AEG to burst-fire. The 3 round burst is something I've wanted for a long time, but one thing I haven't been keen on is buying expensive MOSFET systems then trying to shoehorn it into my gun OR running extra wires though my gearbox. It would mean extra time at the workbench, a complete strip of the gun if the MOSFET failed, extra money, yadda, yadda, yadda.
Luckily the guys at Burst Wizard have solved this problem by producing a "Plug-N-Play" MOSFET unit which eliminates the need for any wiring or stripping.
That's right, Plug-N-Play.
The Burst Wizard King Kong Super 2 is an impressively small yet feature packed MOSFET that simply plugs between your gun and battery. It's that easy. Once installed you use trigger pulls to select the program settings you want to activate and you are ready for gaming.
The MOSFET does come with a trigger switch wire so you have the option of accessing it's full range of features by wiring it into the gun - but many of the features, such as burst fire, are fully available using the simple plug-n-play set up making that my preferred arrangement. This set up allows you versatility not offered by hard-wired MOSFETS, like:
- Swapping the MOSFET quickly between guns - great if you don't have one in your secondary or if a mate wants to give it a go
- Allowing organisers to fit a fire control system to visiting guns to allow them to play within field rules (great for enforcing slow sniper firing)
- Keeps your regular gun maintenance easy by not adding extra parts to the gearbox
I had the pleasure of installing 2 of these units, (purchased from The Armory), into my guns at a recent TAC game held at the Asylum Paintball Field. They were amazing. My guns were snappy and never missed a beat. The 3 round burst landed me quicker kills and had the surprising side effect of making me use fewer BB's! I can only assume that in semi-auto I had been less accurate and used more BB's chasing down players.
Now the burst feature, while being fantastic, is not the only feature of this unit. You can also use the Burst Wizard King Kong Super 2 to program in a "magazine change delay" after a set number of rounds. This means you can simulate real-steel magazine capacity on the field while still using a hi-cap mag. The unit is also programmed to help protect your gearbox, motor and battery thus reducing wear and tear which will probably be noticed by a reduction of burnt out trigger switches.
So how much is this amazing piece of Airsoft Tech you ask? Well you get all this for only $59 inc GST! This is hundreds of dollars less than what some Airsofter's have paid for MOSFET units which came with fewer features and required hard wiring!
If you want to pick up your own Burst Wizards King Kong Super 2 MOSFET you can order one from The Armory. But get in quick, I don't expect these to last long!
